8th Annual Golf Day for the Centenary & McNally Shields  @ Morley Hayes (where the sun always shines!)    Retired Staff are invited to take part in the competition for the CENTENARY SHIELD 1903/2003  which has been arranged for Monday 14th June 2010 at Morley Hayes, Morley Derbyshire DE7 6DG, on the A608 just north of Junction 25 on the M1. It has its own helicopter pad and can be viewed at http://www.morleyhayes.com/static/manor.htm  Tee times will be from 1015 hrs and a green fee of £16.00 .......the same as last year is anticipated….but could be a £1 or so  more. No formal catering arrangements have been made but there is an excellent "Roosters Bar" which provides light snacks and full meals. Retired Members Society of The R&C Sports & Leisure ASSOCIATION will give support for travel/accommodation/green fees in accordance with their guidelines. (See the web pages for details. www.focersa.org.uk link to RMS.) The weather was O.K and we avoided the storms all around and the course was in fine condition. Entries on the day amounted to 19 with travellers from North of the Tyne, Devon , Essex and those closer to home from Northampton and Humberside!! With 3 on 39 points Bryan Powell won the Centenary Shield on count back with Simon Blackamore collecting the McNally Sheild and Chris Coldwell 2 of the minor awards. Playing to their handicaps Mike Nicolass achieved 38 points and Alistair Mc Culloch 36. The rest of the field in no particular order :- Barry Young, George Coulson, John Barber, Eric Bromley, John Gough, Lew Easter, Stuart Musgrave, Peter Passmore, Geoff Beecroft, Hugh O'Neill, Paul Houghton, Ron Smith, Alex Bowen, Rod Andrew(nearest the pin in 3 on the 18th ... only two achieved it!) ranged below this down to 14 points.

Chesterfield C& E Golf Society June Outing 25th June 2009 @ Stanedge G.C.

What an excellent day and an excellent package ..... breakfast , lunch and dinner !!!!! A poor turnout in terms of numbers but some splendid golf. Vice Captain Dave Clifton presented the JUBILEE Cup to the winner .... Terry Bell , the new Stanedge Tankard ( provided by the Stanedge Club) to Tony Tozzi as the morning Competition over 9 holes winner, and the overr 24 H'cap winner Alan Good with the "......" Cup. They all smile below receieving their Trophies.

Retired response to the "youngsters's" Challenge by Paul Houghton to win the Queen's Birthday Bowl with a modest 41 points!! on St George's Day at Morley Hayes.
